There was a major sale on flights to Europe for the last 2 days!
How did we find it?
- Google Alerts for Paris. Amsterdam is generally linked with Paris, and it grew from there.
- Italy is usually the big three- FCO, MXP, VCE
- Then Kayak Explore to see more destinations at the same time
What was available?
- Barcelona $460
- Amsterdam $458
- Rome $489
- Paris $492
- Athens $500
- Lisbon $468
- And MANY more
A lot of these fares were only available for less than a day. Don’t hesitate or you’ll miss out. Book now, plan later. Remember that federal regulations require that the airline give you 24 hours from booking to cancel with no penalty. And ALWAYS book directly with the airline.
Why did they drop?
- Airlines want full planes. They know that the planners (people who buy REALLY early) and the slackers (people who buy really late) will pay a lot of money for a ticket. The few in between who know what to look for can snag the best fares. This was likely the bulk portion of filling these fall flights.
Sales frequently being on Monday. Competing airline start adjusting fares, they sell quickly, gone Wednesday or Thursday.
If we had to guess, these deals for October through December may show up again in July or August. No guarantees though.
